When I was in my late twenties, I attempted to get a life insurance policy. They said I was too much of a risk. This is my answer to that agent and anyone who wonders just how long this life may go on.
I’m gonna live to be 102
How do I know? How do you?
Three heart surgeries, six pacemakers
Four, twelve, and nineteen
At forty-six, I’m still here
And on the maternal track record of life
Daughter and wife
Mother, maybe
Each passing generation added another few years
Lots of laughter, little tears
Dare to dream. Dream to live, there is so much to do.
How do I know? How do you?
Don’t you know? I’m gonna live to be 102.
